About You
You're a hands-on technical professional who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes. You may come from a trade, engineering, manufacturing, testing or product quality background, with experience working on mechanical, biomedical or related equipment.

About the Role
As a Test Lab Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment meets relevant Australian and international standards. Working within our accredited testing laboratory, you'll conduct product testing, assess performance outcomes, prepare technical reports and contribute to the ongoing improvement of testing methods and quality systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with problem-solving, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting testing of rehabilitation and assistive technology equipment against relevant standards
Operating and maintaining specialised testing equipment and laboratory systems
Analysing test results and providing technical recommendations and advice
Preparing accurate technical reports and maintaining laboratory records
Supporting quality, compliance and NATA accreditation requirements
Assisting with the development and improvement of testing methods and procedures
Contributing to testing projects and ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes
Building positive relationships with customers and stakeholders while providing professional technical support
Promoting a safe, compliant and well-maintained laboratory setting

To be successful, you will have:
Experience in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, testing or quality assurance environment
The ability to interpret and apply technical standards, procedures and specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach to troubleshooting
Experience preparing accurate technical documentation, reports and records
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
A commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
Experience in product testing, quality assurance, rehabilitation engineering, assistive technology or a regulated technical environment will be highly regarded
Education and Qualifications
Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III or IV), Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline
Additional qualifications or training in quality assurance, testing, manufacturing or compliance
Experience working within accredited or regulated environments, including ISO quality systems
Eligibility to obtain and maintain NATA signatory status
