Southern Grampians Shire Council is seeking reliable and community-minded individuals to join our team as
Casual School Crossing Supervisors
.
In this important role, you will help students, families and members of the community safely cross roads near schools, making a positive contribution to road safety and active travel throughout the Shire.
School Crossing Supervisors are responsible for:
Safely managing pedestrian crossings during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Assisting children and families to cross roads safely.
Monitoring traffic conditions and operating crossing equipment in accordance with road safety requirements.
Promoting protected pedestrian behaviour.
Representing Council professionally when interacting with the community, schools and road users.
The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires standing for periods of time during rostered shifts.
We are seeking people who are:

Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with children and adults.




Able to follow procedures and work independently.
Committed to providing excellent customer service to the community.
Physically capable of standing and working outdoors.
No previous experience is necessary. Full training, uniforms, and equipment will be provided.
