Animal Emergency Service (AES) Hawthorn East
At AES Hawthorn East, part of the Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) network, you'll collaborate with some of the most highly skilled ECC professionals in the industry, with a strong culture of mentorship and knowledge sharing.

AES Hawthorn East is a well-equipped, purpose-built emergency and critical care hospital, providing access to:
On-site CT machine
Digital radiology
Blood gas and advanced point-of-care diagnostics
Multiparameter monitoring and anesthetic ventilators routinely used in surgery
Dedicated surgical suites with Melbourne city views
Separate dog and cat ICU
About the Role
Lead, support and develop our nursing team to thrive in their roles
Balance operational needs with team wellbeing, engagement and skilled growth
Coordinate effective rosters that meet patient, hospital and team needs
Manage nursing budgets, labour costs and resources
Recruit, train and develop a capable and engaged nursing team
Foster a positive, supportive and accountable workplace culture
Support performance management,
challenging conversations and conflict resolution
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, WHS requirements and relevant legislation
About You
3+ years' management experience is desirable (but not essential)
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) and relevant industry experience
Proven leadership and people management capabilities
Thrives in providing exceptional customer/patient service
Ability to balance operational requirements and budgets against team wellbeing and support
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to learning, resolving problems/complaints, mediation, and courageous conversations
Exceptional communication skills and can communicate effectively in a high-pressure environment
High attention to detail and a desire to support continuous improvement and process management
What We Offer
Permanent Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight) position in purpose-built ECC Hospital
Remuneration pending experience c. $******k base + super + 17.5% leave loading
Rostered hours are generally between 6:00am and 9:00pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility to support a 24/7 clinical team when required
