TALCON Engineers is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Southbank, VIC.
This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant structural engineering projects across diverse sectors.
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, analysis, and delivery of innovative structural solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and performance.
This position is based on-site at our Southbank office and will see you working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to shape the built environment.Key responsibilitiesDevelop and refine structural designs using advanced engineering principles and design standards to meet project requirements and regulatory complianceConduct detailed structural analysis and calculations using industry-leading software and modelling toolsPrepare comprehensive structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for construction and tender purposesCollaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions into overall project designPerform site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures and identify opportunities for optimisation and improvementProvide technical advice and recommendations to clients, contractors, and project teams throughout all project phasesEnsure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and safety regulations in all design and construction activitiesContribute to project cost estimation, scheduling,



and quality assurance processesMentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and processesAbout youBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering disciplineProfessional Engineering qualification or commitment to obtaining Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration in AustraliaMinimum of 3-5 years of qualified experience in structural engineering design and analysisProficiency with industry-standard structural analysis and design software such as SAP****, ETABS, Revit, or equivalentStrong knowledge of Australian Building Standards, AS/NZS codes, and relevant design standardsExcellent technical drawing and documentation skills with proficiency in CAD softwareSolid understanding of structural systems including concrete, steel, timber, and composite materialsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in technical workExcellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teamsExperience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is highly desirableAbout usTALCON is a respected structural and civil engineering consultancy committed to delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality engineering solutions.
