GIS and spatial intelligence are central to how the organisation manages assets, plans infrastructure and supports operational decision-making.The technology team is committed to leveraging data and digital innovation to improve services and create better community outcomes.About the RoleAs Geospatial Information Officer, you will provide operational support across the enterprise GIS environment while working closely with the Geospatial Lead and Geospatial Specialist.You'll play a critical role in maintaining spatial datasets, supporting business users, delivering mapping services and contributing to the ongoing development of the organisation's GIS capability.This position is ideal for a GIS professional looking to broaden their technical skills while working across a diverse and interesting portfolio of projects.Duties – A Day in the LifeSupport the administration and configuration of GIS applicationsAssist users with mapping, reporting and GIS-related requestsCreate high-quality maps, visualisations and spatial reportsCapture,
maintain and quality assure corporate spatial datasetsSupport asset management initiatives through spatial data collection and reportingManage GIS helpdesk requests and provide end-user supportConduct spatial and demographic analysis for business stakeholdersMaintain cadastral and property-related spatial informationDevelop user guides and support GIS training activitiesAssist with the ongoing enhancement of enterprise GIS systems and processesSkills & ExperienceExperience working with GIS applications and spatial datasetsStrong capability with ArcGIS Pro and QGISUnderstanding of spatial databases and spatial data management principlesExperience producing mapping, reporting and spatial analysis outputsStrong customer service and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work independentlyExposure to asset management datasets or infrastructure environments is advantageousTertiary qualifications in GIS, Geospatial Science or a related field preferredLocal Government experience highly regarded but not essentialExposure to a broad range of GIS projects and stakeholdersOpportunity to develop technical GIS and spatial analysis skillsSupportive and collaborative team environmentMeaningful work supporting community outcomesCareer development pathways within GIS and technology functionsIf you're a motivated GIS skilled who enjoys combining technical capability with stakeholder engagement and customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
