BCA Commercial Interiors is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Somerton, VIC location.
This is a hands-on position where you will operate and maintain woodworking machinery for commercial joinery projects.What you'll be doingOperating woodworking machinery including CNC, edgebander and at times a panel saw as requiredSetting up machinery and tooling as neededMonitoring machinery performance and identifying any mechanical issues or defects in materialsPerforming routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevityQuality checking finished components against specifications and reporting any discrepanciesSafely handling and storing sheets and manufactured componentsUnloading supplier trucks of materials as requiredWhat we're looking forExperience in operating woodworking machinery.Understanding of cabinet making materials and how they respond to machiningStrong attention to detail.Knowledge of health and safety practices specific to woodworking environmentsMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issuesPhysical capability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting materialsReliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a teamForklift license is preferredExperience in cabinet making assembling and general factory processes are preferredWhat we offerBCA Commercial Interiors is committed to the professional development of our team.
