ChoiceOne is currently seeking an experienced Production Scheduler for a well-established manufacturing operation based in Canning Vale.
This is an excellent chance for an experienced manufacturing professional who understands how a busy workshop operates and can coordinate production schedules across machining, fabrication and assembly.
IMPORTANT: The business will be relocating from Canning Vale to Rockingham in approximately May/June ****.
Candidates must be comfortable with the upcoming relocation and should take this into consideration before applying.
The Role
Working closely with Production, Operations, Warehouse, Purchasing and other key stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules to ensure work flows efficiently through the manufacturing process and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
Developing and maintaining detailed daily and weekly production schedules
Scheduling and sequencing work orders across machining, fabrication and assembly
Balancing workload against available labour, equipment, materials and production capacity
Monitoring production progress and adjusting schedules when priorities or circumstances change
Tracking work orders through the manufacturing process and identifying potential delays
Liaising closely with workshop supervisors, team leaders and operational staff
Ensuring materials are available before scheduled work commences
Responding to urgent orders, machine breakdowns, capacity constraints and changing priorities
Monitoring delivery dates and highlighting potential issues before they impact customers
Maintaining accurate scheduling information within the ERP system
Producing scheduling and production status reports
Identifying opportunities to improve scheduling processes, workflow and schedule stability
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
Extensive manufacturing experience, with a sound understanding of machining, fabrication and assembly processes
Previous experience in production scheduling, planning or a similar manufacturing coordination role
Experience using Epicor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with workshop and operational personnel
A structured and methodical approach to scheduling and prioritising work
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
The ability to respond calmly and effectively to changing production priorities
A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and improving scheduling processes
Good ERP and general computer skills
The ability to work collaboratively across production, operations, purchasing and warehouse functions
What's on Offer
This is a permanent opportunity offering a salary in the region of $85,000 + superannuation, although this is negotiable depending on the experience and capabilities of the successful candidate.
The position would particularly suit someone who enjoys being close to the workshop rather than simply scheduling from behind a desk – someone who understands manufacturing, communicates well with trades and operational teams, and takes ownership of keeping production moving.
Location: Canning Vale initially, relocating to Rockingham in May/June ****.
If you have solid manufacturing scheduling experience, understand machining and fabrication environments and have experience with Epicor, we would like to hear from you.
