Wallace Street Specialist Centre is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Chermside, QLD.
This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring our specialist medical practice operates smoothly and efficiently.
As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service whilst managing administrative functions that support our operations.
This role is essential to creating a welcoming environment and maintaining the high standards expected in a professional medical setting.Key responsibilitiesGreeting patients with professionalism and warmth, ensuring they feel welcomed at our practiceManaging patient check-ins and check-outs using medical practice management softwareScheduling and confirming patient appointments, and managing the appointment diary efficientlyCollecting relevant patient information and updating medical records accurately and confidentiallyProcessing patient payments and managing invoicing proceduresAnswering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff membersFiling and organising medical records and administrative documents in compliance with privacy regulationsAssisting with general administrative tasks to support the medical and research teamMaintaining a clean and organised reception areaEnsuring compliance with medical privacy legislation and practice proceduresWhat we're looking forPrevious experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administration role would be advantageousStrong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional mannerAbility to change and adapt to meet the requirements of any given daySkilled in general computer applications, Microsoft Office, and experience in medical practice management software (Genie proficiency highly advantageous)Customer service experience with a genuine commitment to providing a positive patient experienceKnowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare confidentiality and privacy requirementsAttention to detail and accuracy when handling patient records and administrative documentationA calm and courteous demeanour, with the ability to handle enquiries and situations with empathyRelevant qualifications in medical administration, health administration or reception (preferred but not essential)Desire to contribute to a small yet dynamic team, and to strive for continued development within the roleAbout usWallace Street Specialist Centre is a family owned and operated specialist medical practice.
