How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play.
There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:Lead and manage a team of engineers developing complex aerodynamics, thermal, and mechanical modelsLead the team technically with support from the Chief EngineerOwnership of the System Modeller processes, tools and technologiesAct as the Technical Authority, if requested, on matters relating to System ModellingConduct and support System Modelling from low to high fidelity in all phases of our products life cycleEnsure the completion of work packages from the Launch Vehicle and Launch Site Product Heads as well as engaging with external suppliers, subcontractors and stakeholders,



where requiredProvide expert direction, mentorship and support to the teamPrioritise work allocation for the team while assessing the needs and requirements of the various organisational programsLead coordination with the departments in the businessDemonstrate desirable role model traits for junior engineers to look up toWork with the Human Resources team to grow and manage the team as requiredOther duties as requested by ManagementMinimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering or a relevant qualification5+ years experience in engineering modellingAbility to model a complex system, using fundamental mechanical/aerothermal principles, and taking into account mission specific constraints and requirements.
This can range from basic hand calculations to creating/using purpose-built tools, depending on the modelling fidelity required.
Must be able to demonstrate sound engineering judgment in the choice of tools, priorities and processes as appropriate to the situation at hand.Experience with mechanical CAD SoftwareExperience with FEA and CFDExperience programming in PythonDemonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies with minimal guidanceProven ability to operate in dynamic,



rapid paced environmentsAbility to work efficiently in a team environment with a desire and willingness to assist other team members in the general day to day running of the organisationMaintains or is eligible for CPENG and RPEQAbility to obtain NV1 Security ClearanceDesired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Proficient in ANSYS Mechanical and/or NASTRAN FEAProficient in Fluent and/or Star CCM CFD and/or ANSYS Thermal DesktopProficient in data analysis techniques, including manipulation of raw data from testing for obtaining useful inputs to analysis or for verifying analysis resultsDemonstrated engineering experience within the space, aerospace or automotive industriesExperience working with Systems Engineering practisesExperience programming in C++Experience automating software CI/CD pipelinesExcellent technical writing and verbal communication skillsExceptional time management, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to rapidly change goals while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentExperience with both waterfall and agile project management frameworksProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsLeadership, motivational and/or negotiating skill.
