We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to join our Dispute Resolution (commercial litigation) team on a full-time, permanent basis in our Sydney office.Supporting senior Partners and the legal team within a busy and high-performing practice, you will play an integral role in the team, providing exceptional legal administrative support while identifying opportunities to enhance processes and deliver outstanding service to both internal and external clients.Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary focus will be supporting the effective management of matters from commencement through to completion, with a robust emphasis on financial administration, document, and litigation support.
Your responsibilities will include:Managing financial processes and the full life cycle of legal matters, including opening matters, conflict checking, high volume end of month billing, managing trust payments and disbursements, write offs, file closing, and archivingEditing, and preparing correspondence and legal documentsPreparing and updating spreadsheets, reports, and presentationsPreparing and collating Briefs to Counsel, chronologies, and court materialsCoordinating meetings and travel arrangements, and liaising with chambers, government agencies, and other external stakeholdersLiaising with clients, counsel, third parties and internal stakeholders with professionalism, confidence, and warmthProviding day to day administrative support, including answering calls, managing mail, printing, scanning, and document handling.About YouYou will thrive in this role if you bring:A background in legal administration support or you are a law student with at least 2 years remaining, and demonstrated experience in legal supportStrong proficiency in Microsoft Word, including working with styles and templatesExperience using Elite or similar finance software for billing, reporting and matter managementStrong working knowledge of Outlook,
Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce professional quality documentationA proactive, adaptable, and team oriented mindsetFast, accurate and detail oriented work habits, with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesDiscretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral member of a supportive, collaborative, and highly engaged team.
