Manager – Bundaberg Molasses Bundaberg Sugar Group | Oakey, Queensland About us Bundaberg Molasses, part of the Bundaberg Sugar Group, supplies molasses and specialty liquid feed supplements to the cattle feedlot and stockfeed industries.
Our Oakey plant produces and distributes liquid supplements, while our molasses business coordinates supply from Millaquin Mill and external suppliers.
About the role Based at Oakey and reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operations of Bundaberg Molasses, combining production leadership with logistics, customer relationships and commercial management.
You will lead the Production Supervisor and plant operators, coordinate production and deliveries, and ensure products meet customer quality and supply expectations.
Your responsibilities will also extend to molasses sales contracts and domestic and export logistics, working closely with mills, suppliers, transport providers and customers.
Travel is required as part of the role, and a company vehicle is provided.
Your key responsibilities will include: Planning production, staffing and raw material supply to meet customer demand.
Leading, supporting and developing the production team.
Coordinating plant maintenance, repairs, hygiene and capital improvements.
Managing molasses transport, storage, shipping and delivery arrangements, including stock records and supply forecasts.
Negotiating customer, supplier and transport contracts and setting spot prices.
Developing annual sales and logistics plans, budgets, forecasts and monthly performance reports.




Maintaining quality systems, including ISO **** and FeedSafe requirements, and driving continuous improvement.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental requirements and company policies.
About you You will bring sound commercial judgement, practical leadership skills and the ability to coordinate people, production and customer requirements.
We are looking for someone with: Experience managing operations in manufacturing, agricultural products, stockfeed or a related industry.
The ability to lead and develop staff and manage competing operational priorities.
Robust negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills.
Experience in logistics, production planning, budgeting and business reporting.
An organised approach, a high level of integrity and a focus on safety and quality.
Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Availability to travel as required.
Experience with molasses or liquid supplement manufacturing will be well regarded.
A tertiary qualification in agriculture, business or a related field would be an advantage.
