The TeamOur Community Youth Justice teams work with young people to reduce offending through restorative, rehabilitative, and community-based programs.
The team work together with the community, other service delivery agencies and the young people themselves.
They encourage offenders to take responsibility for their offences, and where possible, divert them from the criminal justice system.About The RoleThis is more than a job - it's a chance to positively influence young lives.Youth Justice Practitioner, you will provide high-level interventions and support for young people through:Assisting youth in their participation in diversionary programs.Support the Magistrates Court (Specialist Youth Division) and the Supreme Court through the preparation of court reports and attending court.Conduct assessments, develop case plans and supervise a caseload of identified clients on legal orders.Develop and maintain skilled relationships with a range of government and non- government stakeholders to connect young people to services appropriate to their assessed need and monitor the progress of the young person.What We Are Looking ForA genuine drive to help young people build better futuresKnowledge of youth justice practices, approaches and the principles of case management and case workThe ability to apply a range of assessments and interventionsStrong self-management, self-awareness, and emotional intelligenceWell-developed communication, interpersonal and documentation skillsA commitment to ethical practice and continuous improvementWhat We Are OfferingA meaningful role with real impact in young people's livesA supportive and inclusive team environmentCompetitive salaryFour (4)
