They're hiring a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to take on the hands-on delivery, integration and continuous improvement of security controls across their on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments.The roleYou'll be a senior technical contributor within the Security Engineering team, working across complex security challenges and helping shape engineering standards and solutions.The role is hands-on, with a focus on technical depth, automation and solving complex problems, while also supporting and sharing knowledge with the wider team.Before getting into itSalary: Up to $200,000 base + super + bonusLocation: Sydney preferred, Melbourne also an optionProcess: 2–3 stagesWhat you'll doDesign, build, configure, test and deploy security controls across on-premises, cloud and SaaS environmentsOwn and optimise assigned security platforms, including architecture, configuration, tuning, lifecycle and vendor managementDesign, review and govern network security policies, including firewall rules, segmentation and secure connectivityApply scripting, workflow automation, APIs and DevOps-style practices to improve the efficiency, consistency and auditability of security engineering workManage SIEM/log onboarding, tune detection use cases and alert logic, and support vulnerability remediation across technology teamsProvide secondary/backup support for identity and access management (IDAM)



and privileged access management (PAM)Share technical expertise and mentor other engineers, and contribute to architecture and governance forumsWhat you'll bring6+ years' experience in security engineering, cloud/security platform engineering or infrastructure security, including handling complex, ambiguous problems independentlyHands-on experience across four or more of: SASE/network security, firewall and network security policy, email security, EDR, SIEM/security monitoring, cloud/SaaS security, vulnerability remediationExperience with scripting, APIs or workflow automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, Logic Apps)Ability to work effectively in a regulated setting, translating policy, risk and audit requirements into practical, evidenced engineering outcomesExcellent communication skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of seniorityDemonstrated experience mentoring or guiding other engineersRelevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent practical experienceAdvantageousHands-on experience with platforms such as Netskope, Mimecast, CrowdStrike, or SIEM/vulnerability management toolingExperience securing Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environmentsIndustry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AZ-500, SC-200, GSEC, CEH or OSCPExperience identifying practical automation or AI-enabled use cases for security engineeringWhy applyHands-on technical role with real depth and autonomy.Work across the full security stack: network, cloud, SaaS, SIEM and endpointFlexible, inclusive workplaceStrong investment in Security, with budget allocated for continued growth
