Consumer energy national technical regulator
The Australian Government, in partnership with state and territory governments, has developed a national framework for regulating consumer energy resources.
We are preparing to take on the role of the Consumer Energy Resources National Technical Regulator under the framework, subject to legislation.
The new regulatory framework will give consumers greater confidence in their devices, helping them get more value from their energy systems.
The framework sets out roles for us as the Consumer Energy National Technical Regulator, including registering suppliers, installers and products; collecting information about installed devices; and monitoring compliance.
There are current, immediate vacancies available working within the consumer energy national technical regulator as well as further anticipated vacancies as the national framework is developed and implementation commences.
The availability of roles will be staggered as the framework matures and subject to the passage of the related legislation.
The merit pool from this process may also be used to fill roles within the Renewable Energy Target scheme and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme.
