OVERVIEW The International Partnerships Adviser at the University of Melbourne is a full-time fixed-term position within Chancellery Global, Culture and Engagement, continuing until 31 January ****.
Based in Australia, the role supports the University's international strategy through partnership development, regional engagement, and strategic project coordination, with a particular focus on Northeast Asia.
The position works closely with senior University leaders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to strengthen the institution's global profile and collaboration opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Produce intelligence briefs, market analyses, and reports to inform international engagement and partnership decisions in Northeast Asia and other regions.
Contribute to business cases, proposals, and implementation plans for new institutional partnerships and strategic international projects.
Support the development and delivery of regional strategies, education and research collaborations, and transnational education initiatives.
Coordinate international visits, delegations, and events, ensuring effective programming, stakeholder engagement, and timely follow-up.
Maintain partnership management processes, including relationship tracking, governance support, and continuous improvement activities.
Build and manage relationships with international partners and stakeholders across diverse cultural contexts.
Collaborate with faculties, Chancellery teams, governments, and senior leaders on international initiatives.
Requirements
Relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and international engagement experience.
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare briefs, reports, correspondence, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and administrative activities simultaneously while exercising judgement, diplomacy, discretion, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated relationship‐building skills and awareness of cross‐cultural sensitivities.
Experience in process development and improvement related to partnership management, reporting, or evaluation.
Experience in higher education, experience working in another country, or fluency in an Asian language.
Current valid work rights for Australia.
Ability to obtain or hold a Working with Children Check.
