Permanent Full Time (part time by negotiation)
Salary commencing at $96,759 p.a. (plus superannuation)
Are you an environmental health professional looking for a varied role with autonomy, flexibility and genuine community impact?
Hindmarsh Shire Council is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable and solutions-focused Environmental Health Officer to join our Infrastructure Services team.
As Council's principal environmental health practitioner, you'll provide trusted advice, deliver essential regulatory services and help achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes across Hindmarsh Shire.
Highly developed interpersonal skills,
combined with technical knowledge will help you to excel in this role, as you'll work with local businesses, residents, government agencies and colleagues across areas including food safety, public health, onsite wastewater management, infectious disease response, mosquito management, regulated premises and community education.
A tertiary environmental health qualification that enables, or can enable, appointment as an Authorised Officer under applicable Victorian public health legislation.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, assess public health risks, investigate complaints and determine appropriate regulatory responses.
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver environmental health services and contribute to policies, procedures, programs and service improvements.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide professional advice and prepare clear reports and correspondence.
A current Australian Driver Licence.
Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment, National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
