Gidgee Healing is seeking a dedicated Vocational Specialist to join our headspace Mount Isa team.
In this rewarding role, you'll work closely with young people aged *****, supporting them to overcome barriers and connect with education, training, and employment opportunities through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.Why Join Us?

As part of the Gidgee Healing team, you'll be working for an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service committed to culturally safe, holistic care.You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, creativity and meaningful change.The RoleAs our Vocational Specialist, you will:Provide one‐on‐one vocational support to young people experiencing mental health challengesWork closely with clinicians to ensure integrated, person‐centred careDevelop career profiles and employment plans tailored to each young person's goalsSupport job searching, resume development,



interview preparation and job applicationsBuild strong relationships with local employers to create meaningful job opportunitiesProvide ongoing in‐work support to help young people succeed and thriveMaintain a caseload of approx.
20 participants while delivering high‐quality, evidence‐based supportThis is a hands‐on, relationship‐driven role where every day you'll see the impact of your work.What You'll BringA genuine passion for supporting young peopleUnderstanding of the IPS model or willingness to learnExperience working with young people or people with mental health challengesExcellent communication, organisation and problem‐solving skillsThe ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamStrong relationship‐building and networking skillsComputer literacy and solid administrative abilityExperience in employment, vocational or social inclusion servicesKnowledge of local labour market trends or education pathwaysRelevant tertiary qualifications and/or experienceRequirementsCurrent Queensland C Class Driver LicenceBlue Card (or willingness to obtain)National Police CheckReady to Make a Difference?
