Storeman/ Store person (Part-Time)

Position Overview

The Storeman is responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of goods within the warehouse. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the business by ensuring stock is correctly received, recorded, stored and dispatched while maintaining accurate inventory records and a clean, organised and safe warehouse setting. The Storeman will work closely with the sales, purchasing and administration teams to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered within required timeframes.

General Working Hours (20-24 Hours per week)

- Monday - Wednesday : 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
Goods Receiving

- Receive and unload incoming deliveries.
- Check goods against purchase orders, packing slips and supplier documentation.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, shortages or incorrect items.
- Report discrepancies to the appropriate team member.
- Accurately receipt stock into the company inventory system.
- Label and allocate incoming goods to the correct warehouse locations

Picking, Packing & Dispatch

- Accurately pick customer orders from warehouse stock.
- Check products, quantities and documentation prior to dispatch.




- Pack goods appropriately to prevent damage during transport.
- Prepare freight labels, consignment notes and dispatch documentation.
- Coordinate courier and freight collections where required.
- Ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately and on time.

Inventory Control

- Maintain accurate stock quantities and warehouse locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and regular stocktakes.
- Ensure products are correctly labelled and stored. Warehouse Organisation
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised warehouse.
- Ensure stock is stored safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clear access to shelving, walkways and dispatch areas.
- Assist with improving warehouse layout and storage efficiency.
- Ensure tools and warehouse equipment are maintained appropriately.

Internal Support

- Assist sales and administration staff with stock enquiries.
- Communicate stock shortages, discrepancies or delivery issues promptly.
- Assist with urgent customer orders where required.

Experience Essential:

- Previous warehouse, storeman or storeperson experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to safely undertake manual handling duties associated with the position.
- Forklift licence.
- Experience with courier and freight booking systems.
- Experience within an engineering, industrial, manufacturing or trade supply environment. · Knowledge of cutting tools, engineering equipment or industrial products an advantage
