- Very high base + super, Fully Remote anywhere in Australia (Work from Home, or Work from Anywhere)
- No timesheets, no lodgement deadlines, no six-minute units
- Shape a customer function at a fast-growing tax AI platform
Stop billing your time in six-minute increments!
You know tax. You know what life inside a small or mid-sized practice is like. You're the one the grads come to with questions, and clients actually enjoy getting you on the phone.
Now imagine using all of that natural talent without a timesheet, a lodgement program, or a write-off conversation in sight.
About the Client
The client is a well established tax training platform built for Australian SME accountants and tax practitioners. Think of it as the Netflix of tax training.
The business was built by people who used to do your job. It's in hyper-growth and is expanding its customer-facing team.
The Role
You'll be the trusted adviser to accounting firms and their go-to person from day one. In practice, that means:
- Running live onboarding sessions for practitioners across various products, by phone and video/webinar
- Hosting webinars on onboarding, adoption and best practice. If you've ever trained a team or run a client workshop, you'll enjoy this
- Acting as a firm's "Fractional Head of Learning" by building learning plans and running quarterly learning reviews so their teams keep improving
- Being the product expert who answers the questions nobody else can
- Being the AI policy best-practice voice for accounting firms, helping them adopt including AI policy and education
- Creating things from scratch, such as best-practice guides, quarterly topic briefs and customer experience initiatives, then measuring whether they worked
- Spotting growth opportunities and passing them to sales. Identifying them is your job; closing them isn't.
- Helping the sales leaders build a world-class customer experience playbook
About You
- 3-5+ years in tax or business services within an Australian accounting firm, ideally a boutique or SME firm/mid tier
- Solid technical tax knowledge, so practitioners trust you as one of their own
- Excellent people skills and a confident phone manner. You build rapport rapid
- Comfortable presenting, whether to one partner or a webinar of 100 practitioners
- A self-starter who can build from a blank page without waiting for a framework
- Quick to pick up new software. Xero, MYOB, practice management or AI tools are all a plus
- Already thinking about moving out of practice and into something more product-led or client-centric
- SaaS or customer success experience is nice to have but not essential. Your tax credibility matters more
- High EQ is essential - someone that can read a room and engage a room (even though it might a virtual one!).
Why you'll love it
- High base salary on offer for the right person
- Fully remote, anywhere in Australia, and you're trusted to manage your own day
- Real scope. This isn't a support role with a better title. You'll be the person who can actually answer a practitioner's tax question.
- You'll join early enough to shape how the customer function works
- Plenty of room to grow into customer success, product, learning or leadership as it's a fast growing and scaling business
Not sure if you're "qualified"? If you've worked in tax at an accounting firm and people say you're great with clients, APPLY! If you are the one always putting up your hand for trialling software, projects, or teaching others what you learn at a recent CPD event - APPLY!
We care more about your tax knowledge and people skills than about matching every bullet.
