About the Role:
We are seeking an Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor to join the People and Capability team in Melbourne, VIC on a 6 month contract. This is a brand-new position supporting the equity pillar of the organisation's inclusion strategy, and it suits an Occupational Therapist or equivalent allied health professional looking to move into a corporate, non-clinical role. You will coordinate workplace adjustments, run programs that support people with disability at work, manage wage subsidies and the equipment pool, and build training resources for managers and teams. Reporting to the Equity and Experience Manager, you will work closely with HR business partners, store and zone managers, property, technology and external disability sector partners.
- Coordinate the Career Pathways program, track outcomes and update stakeholders on progress against key milestones
- Support HR business partners and line managers to help program participants reach their goals
- Conduct qualified workplace assessments and recommend tailored and universal accessible solutions
- Provide expert advice on equipment, software and environments to improve accessibility for team members
- Guide technology, property, safety and procurement teams on accessible solutions such as screen readers, voice to text and accessible registers
- Manage the equipment pool so adjustments are available, functional and suited to team members' needs
- Record, monitor and report on wage subsidies, and manage relationships with disability employment services and providers
- Influence managers to ensure wage subsidy benchmark hours are completed and subsidies are paid
- Develop and deliver training and resources on disability confidence and workplace adjustments for line managers
- Meet fortnightly with the Workplace Adjustment Specialist and Equity and Inclusion Manager to identify key themes and requests
- Report on wage subsidies,
the equipment pool and accessibility projects

About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification (essential)
- Qualified to register for the National Panel of Assessors
- 1 to 3 years' experience
- Experience conducting workplace assessments and adjustments for people with disability
- Experience in the disability employment services sector and/or the NDIS
- Knowledge of universal design and accessibility
- Experience managing wage subsidies (desirable)
- Experience in learning and development programs and building support resources
- Strong skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Power BI
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with robust time management, organisation and record keeping
- Ability to build rapport, work at pace and drive results in a large organisation
- Eligible to work in Australia
