About the role:
As our Cook/Kitchenhand, you will prepare hearty, nutritious meals that residents look forward to each day. You'll be responsible for menu planning, food ordering, stock control, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.

You'll become a familiar and valued presence in the house, building positive relationships with residents while encouraging responsibility, respect, and participation around meal times

We're Looking For Someone Who
• Enjoys cooking traditional, home-style meals in larger quantities.
• Takes pride in making people feel cared for through good food.
• Has experience in a commercial kitchen, community kitchen, Meals on Wheels, aged care, hospitality, or similar environment.
• Can confidently manage food budgets, stock levels, and ordering.
• Is organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Has a naturally nurturing personality but is comfortable setting boundaries and maintaining standards.
• Can communicate respectfully with a diverse range of people and de-escalate issues when required.




• Works well as part of a team and can cater to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Holds a current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card) or is willing to obtain one.

What You'll Be Doing
• Preparing nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for residents.
• Creating varied and enjoyable menus within budget.
• Managing food purchasing and stock control.
• Maintaining kitchen, pantry, fridge, and freezer areas to health and safety standards.
• Building positive relationships with residents and encouraging healthy eating habits.
• Working closely with management and support staff to meet residents' needs.
• Assisting with medication administration if required (training provided).
