Residential Care Officer

Employment: Full time, 38 hours per week
Salary: $85,000 - 90,000 plus superannuation

About us

Peers Management is an NDIS service provider supporting people with disability to build independence, achieve their goals and participate in their communities. Our services include Plan Management, Support Coordination, Social and Community Participation, Home and Living Supports, and Respite and Short Term Accommodation.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Residential Care Officer to provide care, supervision and structured support to people with disability in residential accommodation settings.

About the role

You will work with participants, their families and the wider support team to assess individual needs, implement support programs and maintain a safe, respectful and supportive living environment. The role combines direct care with monitoring participants' progress and helping them develop everyday living skills.

Key responsibilities

- Provide care and supervision to participants living in residential accommodation, supporting their safety, wellbeing, dignity and independence.
- Assess participants' support needs, abilities and goals in consultation with participants, their families and relevant professionals.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of individual support plans and educational, recreational and daily living programs.
- Support participants to develop skills in personal care, meal preparation, household routines, communication and social interaction.
- Implement agreed behaviour support strategies within your training and responsibilities, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Monitor participants' wellbeing and progress,



document observations and recommend adjustments to support arrangements.
- Support participation in appointments, recreational activities and community programs in accordance with individual plans.
- Liaise with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and other service providers to maintain continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and handover records.
- Follow organisational policies and applicable NDIS requirements relating to safeguarding, privacy, infection control and work health and safety.

About you

- A relevant Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Disability, Welfare or a related field. Applicants with at least three years of relevant experience may also be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Relevant experience providing care and supervision to people with disability, preferably in residential or group accommodation settings.
- Experience implementing individual support plans and monitoring participant outcomes.
- Strong communication, observation and recordkeeping skills.
- A person-centred approach that respects participants' choices, cultural backgrounds and rights.
- An understanding of NDIS safeguarding principles, professional boundaries and incident reporting.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, or willingness to obtain one before commencing.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them before commencing.
- Availability to work the required residential roster: [insert shift and weekend requirements].
