About the Company
Yurala Civils is a 100% Aboriginal-owned civil construction and earthworks company based in the Pilbara, Western Australia. Established in 2013, Yurala Civils delivers quality civil and earthworks services to the mining and civil industries, with extensive experience supporting major projects across the Pilbara.
We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Plant Operators to join our team and support our Rehabilitation Earthworks Project in the Pilbara, Western Australia. The successful candidates will be responsible for the secure and efficient operation of heavy mobile plant and equipment across the project.
About the Role
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and productive operation of heavy mobile plant and equipment on the Project. You will work as part of the project team to complete daily operational activities in line with site requirements, safety procedures and project schedules.
The role may involve operating any or all of the following equipment, depending on your experience, competency and project requirements:
Machines You May Operate
- CAT 150 Grader – grading, road maintenance and general earthworks with topcon and/or trimble GPS experience
- CAT D9 Dozer – bulk earthworks, pushing, spreading, shaping and site preparation, with topcon and/or trimble GPS experience
- CAT 745 Moxy – haulage and transportation of materials around the project
- CAT 980 / 950 Loader – loading, stockpiling, material handling and general earthworks
- 6×4 Water Truck – dust suppression, road watering and general site support
- Service Truck – servicing, refuelling and supporting mobile plant and equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Operating mobile plant safely and efficiently
- Completing daily pre-start inspections
- Reporting equipment defects and maintenance requirements
- Following site safety, environmental and operational procedures
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Working closely with supervisors and the wider project team
- Completing general operating duties as required
- Supporting the team to meet project targets and deadlines
About You
To be considered, you will have:
- Extensive experience across a range of the listed plant and equipment
- Relevant machinery tickets / competencies
- Current HR Licence
- Previous mining, civil or earthmoving experience
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on an 8/6 roster
- Reliable and strong work ethic
