About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full time Educator to join our team at Montessori Beginnings Geelong.
This role is ideal for an educator who values building strong, ongoing relationships with children and families and wants to become an integral part of a collaborative and supportive centre team.
As a Full-Time Educator, you will work closely with your room team to provide high-quality education and care, contribute to the planning and implementation of meaningful learning experiences, and help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can thrive.
Key ResponsibilitiesRelationships & Interactions
- Build warm, respectful and responsive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Support children’s emotional wellbeing, independence and sense of belonging
- Develop strong and consistent partnerships with families
- Communicate professionally and positively with families and team members
- Work collaboratively with educators and the centre leadership team
Education & Care
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational programs
- Create engaging, inclusive and meaningful learning environments and experiences
- Support children’s individual routines, needs, interests and development
- Contribute to observations, documentation and reflective practice
- Support a positive, calm and nurturing atmosphere within the room and wider service
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times
- Follow all policies, procedures and Child Safe practices
- Maintain safe food handling, hygiene and cleaning practices
- Support ongoing compliance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations and National Quality Framework
- Identify and promptly report hazards, incidents or concerns to leadership
- Contribute to maintaining a protected and compliant environment for children, families and colleagues
Team Contribution
- Work collaboratively as a consistent member of your room and centre team
- Contribute positively to the culture and professionalism of the service
- Demonstrate reliability, initiative and a willingness to learn and develop
- Participate in team meetings, professional development and training
- Support other rooms and areas of the service when required
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (completed, studying or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A reliable, skilled and positive approach to your work
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Long Day Care setting
- Understanding of, or interest in, Montessori philosophy and practices
