Ready to turn your plant knowledge into a sales career built on relationships, opportunity and growth?

If you know plants, enjoy meeting people and want to build your commercial sales experience, this could be your next step. You might come from a nursery, horticulture, landscaping or plant service background and be ready to use that knowledge in a role where you can connect with customers, spot opportunities and help projects take shape.

Join cape group as our Partnerships Coordinator and help grow cape plants, our commercial plant nursery. This role will see you networking across the horticulture and landscaping sectors, starting conversations with customers, creating new quoting opportunities and turning strong relationships into repeat business.

About cape

cape group is a not-for-profit registered NDIS provider supporting people with disability across Melbourne’s eastern and northern suburbs. We were formed in April 2025 through the merger of Nadrasca and Brite, bringing together more than 120 years of combined experience. Nepean Centre joined us in June 2026 and Monkami Centre joined in July 2026.

We are building an organisation with the scale, capability and ambition to change what disability services look like. Our measure of success is simple: everyone we support has their best day, every day.

cape solutions is the commercial arm of cape group. Through commercially competitive services, including our plant nursery, we provide training and employment opportunities for people with disability.

The role

As our Partnerships Coordinator, you will help create the opportunities that drive cape plants forward. You will build connections with landscapers, councils, contractors and commercial plant buyers; learn what is coming through their pipeline; and proactively open the door to enquiries, quotes and new business. Using your plant knowledge, you will ask the right questions, recommend practical options and make it easy for customers to work with us from the first conversation through to delivery or collection.

Based primarily at our Broadmeadows plant nursery, you will work alongside the Partnerships Manager, Nursery Manager and nursery team, gaining a deeper understanding of plant ranges,

availability, growing cycles and customer needs. It is a great next move for someone with practical plant experience who wants to level up their knowledge, confidence and commercial capability in a genuinely sales-focused role.

What you will do

Build relationships and create sales opportunities

- Build and grow a network across the horticulture, landscaping, council and commercial development sectors.
- Proactively connect with existing and prospective customers by phone, email, site visits and industry networking.
- Learn about upcoming projects and identify opportunities for cape plants to quote, supply and build repeat business.
- Ask smart questions about species, quantities, specifications, timing and logistics, then shape a plant solution that works for the customer.
- Keep momentum moving by following up conversations and quotes, responding quickly and confidently, and turning interest into sales.
- Represent cape plants in a warm, credible and energetic way that customers remember and want to work with again.

Turn opportunities into quotes and sales

- Turn customer conversations and project leads into clear, accurate and commercially sound quotes.
- Use EverGreen Connect and agreed internal sources to explore stock, availability, alternatives and indicative pricing.
- Follow opportunities through the pipeline, keeping customers engaged and looking for the next conversation, project or order.
- Coordinate purchase orders and customer requirements, with a clear handover to the nursery team once work is secured.
- Maintain useful customer, quote and pipeline records so priorities, follow-ups and growth opportunities stay visible.

Who we are looking for

- Experience working in a wholesale or retail plant nursery, horticulture, landscaping, plant production or a similar plant service environment.
- Good practical plant knowledge and a genuine interest in horticulture.
- Experience in customer service, sales,

sales support or account coordination.
- Experience preparing quotes, coordinating plant orders or working with purchase orders is highly regarded.
- Strong organisation, follow-up and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Outlook, Word and Excel, with willingness to learn EverGreen Connect and CRM or pipeline systems.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with nursery, operations, finance and partnerships teams.

What will make you successful

- You are curious about plants, commercially minded and genuinely enjoy meeting new people.
- You are excited to take practical nursery or horticulture experience and build confidence in sales, networking and account development.
- You are comfortable starting conversations, asking for the opportunity to quote and following up without waiting to be prompted.
- You bring energy, initiative and ideas, while staying organised enough to keep every opportunity moving.
- You enjoy being part of a collaborative team and care about customer outcomes, commercial growth and meaningful social impact.

Why join us?

This is your chance to grow with an ambitious commercial plant nursery and make the role your own. You will deepen your plant knowledge, build a valuable industry network and develop real sales and account management experience, all while contributing to commercial growth that provides training and employment opportunities for people with disability.

- A welcoming, collaborative and purpose-led team environment.
- Attractive salary, including salary packaging available through a not-for-profit organisation.
- Training and career development opportunities.
- The opportunity to use your skills to support commercial growth while providing training and employment opportunities for people with disability.

Employment requirements

All applicants must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and obtain a Working with Children Check prior to employment. Relevant applicants must also provide evidence of unrestricted Australian residency and working rights.

How to apply

We are inclusive in our thinking and are open to candidates who may not meet every criterion but believe they are the right fit for the position. Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
