Strive is looking for a Therapeutic Care Leader to join our Bundaberg team!
This isn’t your typical management role.
It’s a hands-on leadership position where you’ll combine direct therapeutic care with team leadership, coaching and service oversight – helping create a safe, stable and nurturing home where young people can thrive.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead one of our residential Out of Home Care homes in Bundaberg, working alongside a dedicated team to support young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.
You’ll:
- Spend at least one shift each week directly supporting young people, building relationships and creating positive experiences.
- Lead, coach and mentor your care team to deliver consistent, high-quality therapeutic support.
- Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practice into everyday care.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and home-like environment where young people feel valued, heard and supported.
- Work with young people and their support networks to achieve meaningful individual goals.
- Build strong relationships with families, professionals and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality case notes, reports, care plans and other documentation.
- Support staff performance, professional development and a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain compliance with OOHC legislation, HSQF standards and Department of Child Safety requirements.
- Assist with the effective management of the home’s operating budget.
- Provide managerial oversight during rostered on-call periods.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work from home were approved by the Regional Manager.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can lead with purpose, care with compassion and make things happen.
You’ll bring:
- Experience working therapeutically with children, young people and families.
- Experience supporting young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.
- Experience in residential OOHC and/or multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
- The ability to coach, mentor and develop others.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Confidence working independently while being a strong team player.
- A genuine commitment to the safety, wellbeing and participation of children and young people.
Essential requirements you will need
- Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, Disability or equivalent, consistent with Queensland residential care requirements.
- Current Paid Blue Card / Working with Children Check.
- Current HLTAID011/ HLTAID009 Provide First Aid Certificate or commitment to obtain
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module or willingness to complete
- Hope and Healing module or willingness to complete
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.
