2 Executive Director Opportunities - SIRA

- Two Permanent Full-Time Senior Executive Band 2 opportunities

- Sydney location with flexible working supported

- TRP commensurate with experience

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is seeking exceptional executive leaders for two critical Senior Executive Band 2 opportunities that will shape the future performance, sustainability and effectiveness of NSW's workers compensation, CTP and home building compensation schemes. Together, these schemes provide an important social safety net for more than 10 million people across NSW and are funded by over $7 billion in annual premiums.

As a member of SIRA's Executive Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively across government, industry and the community to improve outcomes for scheme participants, strengthen public confidence and support the long-term sustainability of NSW's insurance and compensation schemes.

The Opportunities:

These roles are key members of SIRA's executive leadership team, working closely together and with other members of the SIRA Executive Leadership Team to shape organisational strategy, drive a high-performance culture, and contribute to the delivery of SIRA's long-term objectives. Both roles work closely with industry representatives, unions and community stakeholders to strengthen scheme performance and improve outcomes for NSW citizens.

Executive Director, Regulatory Strategy & Stewardship

As Executive Director, Regulatory Strategy & Stewardship, you will shape SIRA's regulatory strategy, oversee scheme performance and sustainability, and provide authoritative advice to the Chief Executive, Board, Ministers and senior government stakeholders. You will drive regulatory reform, so that regulation of the schemes remains contemporary, evidence-based and responsive to changing market conditions. You will lead a multidisciplinary division responsible for regulatory strategy, strategic intelligence, performance monitoring and policy development across SIRA's regulated schemes. Working across complex legislative, policy and operational environments, you will influence system-wide outcomes by bringing together data, market intelligence and stakeholder insights to reform priorities.

Regulatory Operations

As Executive Director, Regulatory Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for SIRA's regulatory functions, driving compliance, and improving the performance of the schemes we regulate. You will lead the delivery of contemporary, intelligence-led and risk-based regulation to strengthen scheme performance, improve outcomes for people with claims, promote public confidence and support long-term sustainability. Working across complex legislative, policy and operational environments, you will use regulatory intelligence and evidence to identify emerging harms, risks and opportunities, inform regulatory responses and improve scheme outcomes. Lead SIRA's regulatory delivery functions, including regulatory operations, compliance, enforcement, performance and capability. You will drive contemporary, intelligence-led and risk-based regulation, identify and address emerging harms and compliance risks, and work closely with regulated industries to improve scheme performance, strengthen compliance and support better outcomes for scheme participants.

What You Bring

You are an accomplished executive leader with experience working within complex, highly regulated and politically sensitive environments

You will demonstrate:

- Significant senior executive leadership experience in regulation, public

- policy or related fields (relevant to each of the available roles).

- Solid strategic and analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex information into practical decisions and reform initiatives.

- Experience leading large-scale reform, performance improvement or regulatory initiatives.

- Strong judgement and the ability to navigate sensitive, complex and high-profile issues





- A proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement innovation.
