About the project

Bennco Group is delivering a current recreation and wellness facility, with associated external works, at an accommodation village for a Tier-1 Mining Operator in the Pilbara. The scope covers civil, structural, building envelope, services and fit-out works.

The project is well into construction, with the main building, services and fit-out phases still ahead and handover planned for 2027.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced construction Project Manager to take over the project and lead it through to Practical Completion and handover. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Capital Projects, you’ll be Bennco’s lead representative with the client and accountable for safety, programme, cost, quality and client relationships.

You’ll lead an established site team: a Construction Manager, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, HSE Advisors and project administration and document control. You’ll also manage a range of specialist subcontractors and suppliers. Once this project is complete, there will be opportunities to move onto other projects in our Capital Projects pipeline.

What you’ll do

- Hit the ground running: get across the contract, scope, programme, budget and risk register quickly, and make sure the handover into the role is smooth.
- Programme: own the construction programme (MS Project / Primavera P6). Keep it updated and reported, drive recovery actions, and lead lookahead planning with the site team.
- Commercial: manage monthly progress claims, cost-to-complete forecasting, variations, extensions of time and subcontractor claims, and protect project margin.
- Subcontractors & procurement: manage subcontract packages, scopes, performance and payments, and stay on top of long-lead items such as structural steel, glazing,



mechanical plant and joinery.
- Client: be the main point of contact for the client’s project team. Chair the weekly project meetings, prepare progress reports, and manage correspondence, RFIs, technical queries and submittals through Aconex.
- Safety: lead a strong safety culture on site in line with Bennco’s HSE management system and the client’s site requirements, including critical risk controls, inspections, incident management and close-out of actions.
- Quality & handover: oversee ITPs/ITRs, inspections and hold points, building certification, as-builts, O&M; manuals and the full handover and close-out package.
- Resourcing & logistics: plan manning forecasts, mobilisation, inductions and VOCs, flights and accommodation, and work around site shutdown periods.
- People: lead, coach and develop the project team, and report project performance, risks and opportunities to the Operations Manager.

What you’ll bring

- A Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or a related field (minimum Diploma)
- At least 8 years’ construction experience, including 5+ years as a Project Manager delivering commercial building, accommodation village or non-process infrastructure projects
- A track record of delivering projects for Tier 1 resources clients in the Pilbara (e.g. BHP, Rio Tinto, FMG), ideally as head contractor
- Strong programming skills in MS Project and/or Primavera P6, and a proven ability to recover a programme




- Sound contract administration and commercial skills: variations, EOTs, progress claims, cost reporting and forecasting
- Experience managing multi-trade subcontractors across civil, structural, building and services packages
- Strong working knowledge of WA WHS legislation and mine site safety and mobilisation requirements
- Experience with Aconex or a similar document management system (highly regarded)
- Experience taking over a project mid-delivery (highly regarded)
- Clear, confident communication and the leadership to get the best out of a site team

You’ll also need

- Construction Induction (White Card) and a current WA driver’s licence
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and a National Police Clearance
- Full Australian working rights
- Willingness to work a FIFO roster in a remote mine site environment
