Position Overview
The Finance Officer plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of Mulungu’s finance function within the Corporate Services team. This position requires close collaboration with the Finance Manager to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, while delivering timely and accurate financial reports.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer who is committed to high ethical standards and professionalism in the workplace.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping is desirable, or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial policies.
- Experience with MYOB accounting software, Prospend, Employment Hero, and LogicQC an advantage.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Have or be able to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card, Current Australian Federal Police Check (Within the last 6 months) Current Drivers Licence

Key Responsibilities
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Preparing invoices, journals, payment runs, and bank reconciliations.
- Process payroll weekly and monitor employee superannuation and leave requirements.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audits for compliance.
- Responding to finance-related inquiries from staff and suppliers.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Timely processing of supplier invoices and maintaining debtor days.
- Accuracy in invoicing and compliance with document filing requirements.
- Support for audits with zero major findings annually.
- Implementation of process improvements leading to efficiency gains.
