THE POSITION:
The Learning and Development Advisor works across the Organisational Development function, providing contemporary, customer-focused learning and development services that support organisational capability, compliance, leadership development and workforce development initiatives. The role is responsible for coordinating and administering learning programs, learning systems, training records, compliance training, external training providers and learning-related projects to support employee development and organisational outcomes.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support to undertake projects and administrate tasks associated with the full range of Talent and OD functions including:
- Employee and Talent Development (Orientation Program, Corporate Training, Leadership Training, Position based training, compliance training)
- Workforce Resourcing (Volunteer Program, Grow Our Own Trainee Program and Work Experience)
- Training administration and coordination
- Talent and OD project support
- Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (CHRIS Learn), including course creation, enrolments, learning records, compliance training assignments, user support and reporting.
- Maintain online learning platforms and digital learning resources.
- Coordinate the delivery of the annual Corporate and Compliance Training Plan, including scheduling, provider management, enrolments, communications and completion monitoring.
- Monitor mandatory training completion and maintain the dashboard.
- Coordinate external training provider engagements, including sourcing quotes, processing bookings, managing course logistics, liaising with vendors, confirming participant attendance and maintaining accurate training records and expenditure information.
- Provide professional and administrative support including professional front-line customer service and maintenance of the online OD service desk portal.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and support on learning, development and training processes, systems and opportunities.
- Promote learning, development and talent initiatives through internal communications and engagement activities to encourage participation and support a culture of continuous learning.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Talent and OD procedures, guidelines and frameworks.
- Collate, maintain, analyse and present training data from various databases.
- Promote and contribute to a positive workplace workplace. This will include providing accurate and timely advice to management and staff on employment related training matters and liaising with external bodies where relevant.
- Participate in and actively contribute to continuous improvement and change management.
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
- Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 35 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines.
- This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over standard hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.
- This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, such as walking and lifting, along with general manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration is required for this position.
- This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check.
- This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing.
- This position is located at the AlburyCity Administration Building, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury with occasional visits to external sites/depots as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Minimum Diploma in Human Resources/ or a related field such as behavioural science, training, or management or relevant work experience
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Class C (Standard) Driver's Licence
EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant experience working in a Human Resources workplace delivering a professional service in a broad range of Human Resources functions or training and development
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Demonstrated practical understanding of Human Resources management processes and functions
- Award and legislation interpretation and implementation
- Critical thinking, evaluation and analytical skills
- Ability to learn new IT systems and processes.
- High level of computer literacy in the use of a variety of software applications including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, HRIS systems
