The key responsibilities of the role are:

- Provide high-quality person-centred care services to complex care consumers/participants in accordance with care plans and national Aged Care/Disability service standards
- Uphold the rights, choice and dignity of consumers and/or participants.
- Develop positive and respectful relationships with the consumers and/or participants and their family / carers, i.e., treat them courteously and professionally.
- Actively supporting the human rights of consumers/participants and alert supervisors immediately, if he/she is being subjected to any form of abuse and neglect.
- Provide Personal Care Assistance such as washing, bathing/showering, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility support and other personal care tasks such as assisting with the fitting of aids or assisting to eat meals and using the toilet, ensuring their rights with to privacy, dignity and cleanliness are respected.




- Ensure the consumer’s/participant’s Domestic Workplace is maintained to a high standard by undertaking domestic duties such as vacuuming, cleaning, laundry, food preparation, shopping etc.
- Provide Social Support or Respite support, either within the home as part of offering companionship or within the community, which is directed towards meeting needs for social contacts, participate in community life or providing respite to carers
- Provide safe transport support to enable access to community and social activities, medical or specialist appointments, shopping etc.
- Undertake direct care tasks related to social support services provided by the Centre including day centre services, social outings and getaways, when required.
