We are seeking a Grazing Field Officer to join our Sustainable Agriculture Team and help deliver projects that support sustainable grazing practices across the Burdekin Dry Tropics region.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with graziers, industry stakeholders and technical specialists to improve land condition, support productive enterprises and contribute to long-term natural resource management outcomes.

- Full time, permanent position
- Based in Townsville
- Attractive annual salary range ($73,503 – $93,005) + 15% superannuation + generous professional development opportunities

About the role

As a Grazing Field Officer, you will work closely with grazing landholders to support the adoption of sustainable land management practices. You will assist with the delivery of extension programs, training activities and incentive-funded projects while helping graziers achieve positive environmental and production outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with grazing landholders and stakeholders.
- Support the planning and delivery of natural resource management projects.
- Coordinate and deliver training, extension and education activities.




- Assist graziers to identify opportunities and access incentive funding.
- Support implementation of incentive-funded projects and achievement of project outcomes.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on project progress and performance.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting documentation.

Selection Criteria

You are a proactive and people-focused qualified who enjoys working with rural communities and delivering practical outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

1. Experience, technical skills, knowledge, and qualifications in sustainable land management practices.
2. Formal qualifications or demonstrated experience and skills in project management, including stakeholder engagement, project planning and reporting, and risk management.
3. Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, and liaise with a range of stakeholders on often complex matters.
4. High-level organisational skills, including the ability to develop and manage processes and organise, prioritise and delegate work activities to meet targets in a demanding, busy environment.
5. Demonstrated experience in delivering activities to achieve milestones within project budget and time frames.
6. Knowledge of,



or the demonstrated capacity to rapidly learn, the Google suite, Microsoft Office suite and ArcGIS.

This role also requires a current QLD Drivers License and the ability to travel regularly throughout the Burdekin Dry Tropics region.
