An excellent opportunity has opened up for an Assistant Accountant - and fluent Mandarin speaker - to join the Sydney office of a well-established international company. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day finance function, gaining broad exposure across accounting operations, reporting and governance in a banking setting.

Responsibilities include:

- Preparing daily bank reconciliations and investigating any variances
- Processing expense reimbursements and managing expense invoices
- Monitoring expenditure against budget
- Processing accounts payable
- Preparing and posting manual journals




- Preparing daily balance sheet and P&L; reports and investigating significant movements
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Supporting month-end reporting, reconciliations and Head Office reporting
- General filing and ad hoc tasks

About you

- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Fluent Mandarin (essential)
- Advanced Excel and strong Word skills
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay accurate under pressure
- A proactive, team-focused attitude
