About the opportunity
Research and Design are central to how the Freight Experience Team shapes and improves digital products, services and customer journeys across Freight Services. Working closely with product owners, business stakeholders, engineering, operations and program teams, the team brings customer and business needs into the design process and champions evidence-based decisions that create effortless, smart and exceptional experiences. Reporting to the Product Design Lead, the Product Designer works collaboratively across the full design lifecycle, from discovery, concepts and user flows through to wireframes, accessible interface designs, prototypes, testing and implementation support. The role contributes to high-quality digital freight experiences, maintains customer experience as a key project outcome, applies established design standards and global patterns, and actively supports the Product Design Community of Practice.

You’ll also

- Create optimised experiences that represent the customer while balancing business owner and product owner priorities, operational needs and engineering feasibility.
- Create user experience deliverables such as user journeys, visual design, design patterns, and prototypes.
- Actively contribute to user-centred and business-centred design activities across freight initiatives, creatively solving problems at all levels of detail:



from the big picture to the small detail.
- Work with research teams carrying out customer interviews, usability testing, qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights and participate in validation of concepts.
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, research findings, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually to different audiences and varying levels of the organisation.
- Actively collaborate with the senior design team to mature global patterns for consumption across all products and platforms.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the Freight Experience Team, Product Design, Product and Business Ownership, Engineering, Delivery and Operations, partnering with Freight Services business teams, program teams and digital delivery partners to design and deliver customer-centric digital experiences.

About you
We're looking for a customer-focused Product Designer who can translate customer insights into intuitive, accessible digital experiences. You'll bring strong problem-solving skills, experience with contemporary design and prototyping tools, and an understanding of web or mobile technologies, while championing best-practice accessibility and user-centred design.

You’ll also need

- Proven product design experience with a focus on interaction design and/or user experience design with demonstrable portfolio of work.
- Experience creating interfaces, large-scale websites, or applications.




- Strong understanding of and experience with user interface design processes and methodologies.
- Background working with clients or internal clients and cross-functional development teams in an Agile Environment
- Experience working on large-scale digital products and roadmaps within complex organisations, with the ability to navigate ambiguity
