About the role:
The Media and Communications Officer helps keep the community informed and engaged by delivering transparent, accurate and professional communications across a range of channels.
In this role, you will:
- Develop media releases, articles, digital content and promotional materials.
- Support Council’s media, website and social media activities.
- Coordinate communications for Council projects, services and events.
- Assist with community consultation and engagement activities.
- Build positive relationships with media, community stakeholders and Council teams.
- Monitor communication activities and report on results.
About you:
You are a confident communicator who can create engaging content, manage competing priorities and work effectively with a range of people.
You will bring:
- Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
- Experience creating content across different communication channels.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Sound judgement, initiative and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, social media and design software.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence and a non-prohibited DHS working with children check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
- A commitment to Council’s values and behaviours.
