The Information Technology Unit (ITU) is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Administrator to join the Enterprise Platforms team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong platform specialist to play a key role in supporting, optimising and enhancing critical enterprise platforms that enable teaching, learning, research and business operations across the University. Working within an agile environment, you will contribute to platform performance, security, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with a wide range of stakeholders across UTS.

Detailed Description

About the Team

The Information Technology Unit (ITU) provides the core technologies that enable UTS to teach, learn, conduct research and operate effectively. The Enterprise Platforms team is responsible for the management, support and continuous improvement of critical enterprise applications and platforms across the University. Working within an agile environment, the team collaborates closely with business stakeholders, vendors and technology partners to deliver secure, scalable and customer-focused technology solutions. As UTS transitions to Workday, this role will play a key part in establishing the support model, operational readiness and long-term platform capability required for ongoing success.

About the Role

As the Senior Platform Administrator, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day administration, security management, configuration and operational support of the Workday platform. Working closely with implementation partners, vendors, platform architects and business stakeholders, you will support platform configuration, user access management, security administration, system monitoring and issue resolution while helping ensure the platform remains secure, reliable and optimised.

You will contribute to the successful transition of Workday from implementation into business-as-usual operations by developing support processes, documentation, disaster recovery procedures and operational standards that support long-term platform sustainability. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong enterprise platform administration experience with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement and delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administration, support and operational management of the Workday platform across production and non-production environments.
• Manage Workday security configuration,



access controls, roles, permissions and user administration in accordance with University policies and governance requirements.
• Monitor platform performance, system availability, integrations, data integrity and operational health to ensure optimal platform performance.
• Support platform configuration, upgrades, patches, enhancements and release activities while minimising disruption to users.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, working closely with vendors, implementation partners and internal teams to deliver timely resolution.
• Coordinate incident, problem and change management activities, including defect management and escalation where required.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, support processes, standard operating procedures, knowledge articles and operational standards.
• Support disaster recovery planning, operational readiness activities and the transition from implementation to business-as-usual support.
• Contribute to platform optimisation, automation initiatives, capacity planning and continuous improvement activities.
• Share Workday knowledge, mentor team members and contribute to building the University's internal platform capability.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Demonstrated experience administering and supporting enterprise SaaS platforms, preferably Workday or similar enterprise business systems.
• Experience managing platform security, user access, roles, permissions and governance controls.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application administration, platform configuration, integrations and operational support.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining a strong customer and service focus.
• Experience supporting enterprise platforms through implementation, transition, upgrades or major transformation programs.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices, risk management and platform governance principles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Experience working within Agile environments and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Systems Administration,



Enterprise Applications or a related discipline.
• Previous Workday experience will be highly regarded, particularly across Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Finance or Security Administration modules.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $132,702 to $143,175 pa (HEW 8)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is offered on a full time fixed-term basis for 12 months.
