Disability Support Workers – Community Access & Personal Care
Casual | South-East Melbourne | $45–$47 per hour + superannuation
About GSC
GSC is a registered NDIS provider based in South-East Melbourne, providing individualised support to people living with disability.

About the Roles
We are expanding our team of casual Disability Support Workers, with opportunities across community access, social participation, personal care and daily living support.
We are seeking male and female Support Workers for community-access roles, as well as female Support Workers for participants requiring personal care and daily-living support.
Community Access – Male & Female Support Workers
We are looking for reliable and engaging Support Workers who enjoy helping participants access their community, build independence and take part in activities that are meaningful to them.
Supports may include:
- Community access and social activities
- Attending appointments, programs and activities
- Supporting independence and everyday life skills
- Transport and assistance within the community
- Supporting participants to work towards their individual goals
Community access shifts are generally 2–3 hours, with opportunities for additional shifts based on participant needs and availability.
We are looking for Support Workers who can commit to at least two shifts per week and provide consistent, ongoing support to participants.
We welcome applications from experienced Support Workers as well as health, allied health, disability or community-services students looking for meaningful casual work alongside their studies.
Continuity is important to our participants, so we are particularly interested in applicants looking for a reliable, ongoing role and who expect to remain available over the longer term.
Female Support Workers – Personal Care & Daily Living
We are also seeking experienced female Support Workers to assist participants requiring personal care and daily-living support.
Supports may include:
- Personal care and daily living activities
- Community access and social participation
- Routine and structured activities
- Medication assistance and manual handling where required and appropriately trained
- Overnight sleepovers for some participants
These roles may include longer weekday or weekend shifts depending on participant needs.
About You
We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy supporting others and understand the importance of reliability, consistency, dignity and respect when working with people living with disability.
You will ideally bring:
- A caring, patient and respectful approach
- Reliability and a solid work ethic
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence working independently with participants
- An understanding of professional boundaries
- Previous disability-support experience and/or relevant study or training
For community-access roles, we are open to applicants who may not have extensive disability-sector experience but demonstrate the right attitude, maturity and commitment.
Personal-care roles require relevant experience and appropriate training.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain before commencing:
- Current Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Australian working rights
- Two professional references
Additional training, including manual handling and medication assistance, may be required depending on the participants you support.
