About the role
As the Grade 2 Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing expert social work care to patients admitted to inpatient acute clinical areas. You will have demonstrated experience and expert knowledge of the delivery of social work service to a range of populations and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and with a range of service providers.
These fixed term, part time opportunities allow for work life balance to those wishing to work two week days and one weekend day per week. Clinical work on the weekends will focus on providing support to MDT across the Emergency, Short Stay and ICU. In addition, some ward work will be required.
A regular day will see you:
- Provide expert clinical care to patients, families and carers
- Apply contemporary and evidence-based practice to your work
- Participate in our Student Education Program including taking student clinical placement
- Participate in a Social Work Department opportunities including provision of Grade 1 supervision, being part of a Social Work Department Portfolio,
- Actively participate in Supervision and Professional Development
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
- A degree in Social Work and eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Previous experience working in a health / hospital environment.
- An ability to work autonomously, in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated well-developed skills and knowledge in health, including advanced patient assessment and intervention skills, discharge planning, consultation, referral, risk assessment, and collaborative care planning.
- Proven capacity to perform as a clinical social worker role in practice settings; and a sound knowledge of principles of professional practice and adherence to professional ethics.
