About the Role
Status: Full Time, fixed term 12 months
Remuneration: $85,201.48 - $98,224.88 (based on level of experience) + Super + Salary Packaging
Classification: HM11 - HM13 under the AMA Victoria - Victorian Public Health Sector - Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement
Mildura Base Public Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Hospital Medical Officer (HM11-HM13) to join our Community Mental Health team.
This role provides an excellent chance to develop your clinical skills in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment while delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care to consumers experiencing mental illness and psychological distress. Working alongside Psychiatrists, Registrars, Mental Health Clinicians and Allied Health professionals, you will contribute to the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of consumers across a range of community mental health settings.
You will gain valuable experience in mental health assessment, risk assessment, care planning and community-based treatment, while working under the supervision and mentorship of experienced senior clinicians. This position is ideal for doctors seeking to further their experience in mental health, psychiatry or broader medical practice within a contemporary and consumer-focused service.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Medical Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) or above
- Successful completion of AMC MCQ examination and preferably AMC Clinical examination
- General Registration, or eligibility for General Registration, with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated clinical skills commensurate with your level of training and experience
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to providing person-centred, recovery-oriented care
- A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
- An interest in mental health and the provision of high-quality care to consumers, families and carers
