The Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Town Planning, this position is responsible for the assessment of Development Applications and associated customer service functions, assists the Local Planning Panel in their consideration of Development Applications and provision of expert evidence in the Land and Environment Court of NSW.

You are a motivated and driven planning professional that will contribute to the growth of the Hawkesbury community through valuable planning and statutory outcomes. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer excellence with your interpersonal and negotiation skills and work with the community with strong written and verbal communication while handling your workload with outstanding time management. You will positively contribute to the team culture and help achieve success through positively contributing towards business improvements.

Essential Criteria





- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Relevant experience in the assessment of development applications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Environment Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and associated legislation and regulations as they relate to development assessment
- Developed communication skills both verbal and written including report writing skills
- Experience with complex and/or contentious developments is desirable
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Class C Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
