Workforce Extensions is currently recruiting Fire Suppression Technicians to join a well-established fire protection company specialising in the mining and heavy industrial sectors.

Our client is a respected provider of fire protection services, delivering installation, inspection, servicing and maintenance solutions across major mining operations throughout Queensland.
About the Role
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to work across open-cut mining sites throughout the Bowen Basin.
Positions are available on a FIFO basis from Brisbane or DIDO basis from Mackay, with both site-based and mobile servicing opportunities available.
You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing and maintaining critical fire protection equipment and systems to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and site safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service and maintain fire suppression systems on mining equipment and site assets.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of portable fire equipment.
- Perform maintenance on fire detection and suppression systems.
- Identify faults and carry out preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Complete service reports, maintenance records and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Australian Standards and site safety procedures.
- Work independently and collaboratively with site maintenance teams.

About You
We are interested in hearing from experienced Fire Suppression Technicians as well as mechanically minded candidates who are willing to undertake training.
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience with fire suppression systems, portable fire equipment or a willingness to learn.
- A mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools and equipment.
- A current manual driver's licence.
- A solid commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently in a mining environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate service documentation.
- A reliable attitude and willingness to work a 7/7 mining roster.
Highly Regarded Qualifications:
- Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) accreditation
- Standard 11 Mining Induction
- Current Section 4 Medical
- Working at Heights certification
- First Aid Certificate
- QBCC Licence
- Knowledge of AS1851 Australian Standards
