About the Project

GRiD Electrical is building its HV team for a major data centre development at Marsden Park. This is critical infrastructure with a strong safety culture, high quality standards and a long-term pipeline of work. We're looking for experienced HV tradespeople at all levels, including Leading Hands, to deliver the installation, testing, commissioning and energisation of the site's high voltage network.

Positions Available

HV Electricians
Install, terminate, test and commission HV switchgear, transformers, protection systems and associated equipment.

HV Switchers
Carry out HV switching, isolation, earthing and access procedures, and prepare and implement switching programs and permits.

HV Cable Jointers
Lay, joint and terminate HV cables (up to and including 11KV -33KV), including testing and recording of completed work.

HV Leading Hands (all disciplines)
Lead and coordinate HV crews while remaining hands-on. Run pre-starts and toolbox talks, prepare SWMS and switching programs, oversee quality and safety, liaise with supervisors, engineers, the client and network operators, and mentor apprentices and junior tradespeople.

About You

All roles (essential)

- Current trade qualification and licences relevant to your discipline (Electrician, HV Electrician, HV Switcher or HV Cable Jointer)

- Relevant HV accreditations and authorisations, including the NSW accreditation required for contestable HV work where applicable





- Solid HV experience on large commercial, industrial, utility or data centre projects

- Working knowledge of HV safety, isolation, access and permit-to-work procedures

- Ability to read HV single-line diagrams, schematics and drawings

- White Card and a valid driver's licence

- A commitment to secure work practices and quality workmanship

Additional for Leading Hands

- Proven experience leading and supervising HV crews

- Strong communication, planning and leadership skills

- Experience preparing SWMS, switching programs and ITPs

Desirable

- Experience on data centre, critical infrastructure or mission-critical builds

- Experience with HV testing and commissioning (VLF, PD, insulation resistance, protection testing)

- Certificates in First Aid, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, EWP or Rescue

- Cert IV in Leadership and Management, or similar

- Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and client safety management systems
