About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Course Consultant and proven sales qualified who knows how to build rapport, understand what motivates someone, manage a sales conversation and confidently close.
This is not an entry-level sales position.
You will be the first point of contact for prospective students considering studying with ACFB. All leads are warm and generated through inbound enquiries — there is no cold calling.
Your role is to understand what the prospective student is trying to achieve, determine whether ACFB is the right fit and confidently guide them towards making a decision and enrolling.
We don't believe in high-pressure selling. But we do believe in selling.
That means asking good questions, listening properly, handling objections, following up consistently and being comfortable asking someone to take the next step.
Day to day, you will be:
- Responding to warm inbound enquiries by phone, email and in person
- Building rapport and understanding prospective students' goals, motivations and concerns
- Conducting structured sales conversations and recommending the most appropriate course

You are confident, mature and commercially minded. You can quickly build trust with different personalities, have direct but respectful conversations and know when to listen, challenge, follow up and ask for the sale.
Most importantly, you don't simply provide information and wait for someone to make a decision. You know how to move a conversation forward and close.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated experience in a sales, business development, recruitment or consultative sales role
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Robust closing ability and confidence asking for the sale
- Exceptional rapport-building and interpersonal skills
- Experience handling objections and overcoming barriers to a decision
- Strong telephone sales and communication skills
- Persistence and discipline when following up opportunities
- Solid organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Confidence managing your own pipeline and taking ownership of results
- Experience using a CRM and working within a structured sales process
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team
Experience within education, training, recruitment, health, fitness or another considered-purchase sales environment will be highly regarded.
Experience with HubSpot CRM is also highly regarded.
Knowledge of RTO operations and VET Student Loans would be advantageous, but is not essential — we can teach you the education side of the role. What we are looking for is someone who already knows how to sell.
This position is Monday to Friday, with a minimum of three days per week based on campus. Standard hours are generally 9:00am to 5:00pm, with some days rostered from 10:00am to 6:00pm to support prospective student enquiries and appointments. We’re happy to discuss the working arrangement and can offer some flexibility for the right candidate.
