The Kooralbyn International School is seeking an organised, approachable and capable Human Resources Officer to support the delivery of HR, workplace relations, compliance and HR-related workplace health and safety activities across our School.

This role is offered as an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, designed to give both you and the school the opportunity to get to know one another and ensure a strong mutual fit. We are seeking someone we hope will become a long-term member of our team, with the intention of transitioning the role to an ongoing full-time position following the fixed-term period, subject to review.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to an HR professional who enjoys working across the full employee lifecycle and building positive working relationships with staff and leaders.

Working closely with the leadership team and People & Culture Coordinator, you will provide practical HR support and advice while helping ensure our employment practices remain compliant, effective and aligned with the needs and values of the School.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and employee documentation

- Providing HR advice and support to managers and employees

- Preparing employment contracts, variations, position descriptions and HR correspondence

- Supporting performance management, disciplinary matters, workplace investigations and employee relations

- Supporting the appropriate management and documentation of grievances and workplace concerns

- Coordinating WorkCover claims and suitable Return-to-Work arrangements

- Developing and reviewing HR policies, procedures, systems and practices

- Supporting organisational change, consultation and workforce planning processes

- Maintaining employee records, compliance registers and HR systems

- Monitoring mandatory employee compliance requirements,



including Blue Cards and teacher registrations

- Supporting HR-related WHS, compliance and staff wellbeing activities

- Participating in the School's WHS Committee and supporting associated compliance activities

- Developing and delivering staff inductions, training and awareness programs

- Working collaboratively with Payroll and other departments throughout the employee lifecycle

About You

We are looking for someone who is professional, practical and confident working with people at all levels of an organisation.

You will ideally bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field

- Previous experience working in a Human Resources role

- Sound knowledge of the Fair Work framework, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards and contemporary HR practices

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent organisation and time-management skills with strong attention to detail

- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, tact and professionalism

- Confidence working independently, using initiative and exercising sound judgement

- Experience using contemporary HR systems and Microsoft applications

- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in supporting a positive workplace culture

- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or ability to obtain one
