UXD Designer

1. What You'll Do

Discovery and Problem Definition
Conduct customer and staff research to understand needs, pain points, and context of use
Frame ambiguous or complex problems into explicit design and research questions
Synthesise research findings into actionable insights for product and engineering teams
Journey and Service Design
Map end-to-end customer and staff journeys across digital and operational touchpoints
Develop service blueprints that connect front-end experience to back-end process and
systems
Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or remove unnecessary complexity from
workflows
Interaction and Workflow Design
Design information architecture for complex, data-rich enterprise applications
Produce wireframes and interactive prototypes for digital products and operational platforms
Design workflows that reduce staff effort and support consistent, compliant decision-making
Delivery Support
Produce clear design specifications ready for engineering build
Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on findings
Work within Agile delivery teams, participating in ceremonies and iterative delivery cycles
Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate workshops with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
Present design work and rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Build strong working relationships with Product Owners and Engineers to ensure design intent
is preserved through delivery

1. Required Skills and Experience

Human-Centred Design
Proven experience applying human-centred design methods to real-world, complex problems
Ability to balance customer needs with business and technical constraints
Enterprise and Workflow Design
Experience designing for complex workflows, enterprise applications, B2B experiences, or
operational platforms
Comfort working with multi-step processes, business rules, and system-driven constraints
Systems Thinking
Ability to understand and design across interconnected journeys, workflows, and underlying
systems

Capacity to see how a single design decision affects the broader operational and technical
ecosystem
UX and Prototyping
Strong craft skills in service design, experience design, wireframing, and prototyping
Experience conducting usability testing and iterating based on evidence
AI-Augmented Design
Experience using AI-assisted design tools — such as generative wireframing and prototyping
features, AI-assisted layout and content variant generation — to accelerate ideation and
exploration
Experience using AI to accelerate research synthesis, including summarising qualitative
feedback, identifying patterns across journeys, and surfacing insights faster from research
and analytics data
Prior hands-on experience with AI design or research tools is beneficial, but not mandatory.
As with domain knowledge, candidates are expected to build fluency with approved AI
tooling after joining, applying it responsibly and in line with data handling and
compliance requirements
Collaboration and Communication
Strong facilitation skills, including running workshops with diverse stakeholder groups
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to clearly articulate design rationale
Agile Delivery
Experience working within Agile delivery teams alongside Product Owners and Engineers
Ability to produce design artefacts at a pace that supports iterative delivery

1. Desirable Experience

The following areas of experience are beneficial but not mandatory:
Trade Finance
Business Banking
Institutional Banking
Lending
Payments
Banking Operations
Servicing Platforms
Regulatory environments
Workflow automation
Case management

1. Domain Learning Expectations

Successful candidates will be expected to learn, on the job:
Trade Finance products
Customer journeys
Operations processes
Risk and compliance considerations

Workflow and servicing models
Candidates with strong enterprise and workflow design experience should not be excluded
because they have not previously worked in Trade Finance.
Domain expertise is expected to grow after joining and is not required on day one. Strong design
fundamentals, systems thinking, and the ability to learn quickly are prioritised over prior Trade
Finance exposure.
