About the role
Quasar Electrical are currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our growing team supporting clients across the Newcastle & Hunter regions.
This diverse role involves electrical and instrumentation maintenance, fault finding, installation, testing and commissioning across mining, industrial and manufacturing environments.
The successful candidate will undertake a combination of electrical and instrumentation works depending on client and project requirements.
Multiple roster options are available depending on client requirements.
The role will be responsible for supporting the safe and reliable operation of critical electrical and instrumentation systems through the delivery of high-quality electrical & instrumentation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide protected, effective and efficient electrical and instrumentation services to our clients.
- Service, maintain, install, calibrate and commission process instrumentation and associated equipment.
- Carry out fault finding, preventative maintenance and general electrical works across client sites.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers and project personnel to safely deliver maintenance, commissioning and project outcomes.
Technical Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in industrial instrumentation maintenance, calibration, commissioning and fault finding.
- Experience with field instrumentation including pressure, temperature,
level and flow measurement.
- Experience with belt weighing systems, including load cells and belt speed sensing equipment, would be highly regarded.
- Experience with transmitters, sensors, control valves and other final control devices.
- Strong understanding of 4–20 mA instrumentation, control loops and associated electrical circuits.
- Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.;
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent.
- Current unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence.
- Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control, or equivalent recognised instrumentation qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and fault finding.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- Strong communication skills with a practical approach and demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within mining, heavy industrial, manufacturing or process environments.
- PLC and HMI fault finding experience.
- Hazardous Areas qualifications and experience.
- Working at Heights qualification.
- Current LVR/CPR Certificate.
