The role
We're looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to work alongside our Operations Manager and help run our landscape maintenance division. This is a genuinely hands-on role. You'll spend time in the field leading crews and keeping standards high. You'll also have a hand in scheduling, site audits and client communication. If you're a strong team leader or supervisor ready for the next step, this is a great opportunity to grow into management with real support behind you.
What you'll be doing ?️
- Leading and supervising team leaders and field crews day to day
- Helping schedule service runs, staff,
subcontractors and equipment
- Running toolbox talks and completing site audits
- Keeping safety front and centre with SWMS, pre-starts and site inductions
- Being a go-to contact for clients and site managers on day-to-day matters
- Tracking labour and materials against budget and flagging issues early
- Training team members, including on equipment and our job management system
- Stepping up to cover the Operations Manager during leave
What you'll bring ✅
- At least 2 years' experience in commercial landscape maintenance
- At least 1 year's experience leading or supervising field crews
- A current manual driver licence and White Card
- A current First Aid certificate, or willingness to get one
- Practical knowledge of WHS on site
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace (G Suite) ?
- Comfortable using client induction and site sign-in systems to support your onsite teams
- Valuable communication skills and a customer-first attitude
Bonus points if you have ⭐
- Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or Landscape Construction
- Experience with Aroflo or a similar job management system (nice to have, not a must!)
- ChemCert or similar chemical accreditation
- Experience working with commercial, strata or government clients
