ER LAW is the internationally recognised peak professional body for lawyers and professionals working across the energy and resources sector. For more than 50 years, it has connected its professional community through education, knowledge sharing, professional development and industry networks.

About the Role
Working closely with the Executive Director, you'll take ownership of membership growth, engagement and member value across ER LAW's national community.

This is a relationship-led role with a strong commercial focus. You'll build relationships with individual and corporate members, understand what they need and identify opportunities to increase membership, participation and the value ER LAW provides.

Events and communications will drive engagement and growth. You'll help shape and deliver a national events program, develop relevant member communications and ensure opportunities generated through events, enquiries and member interactions are proactively followed up.

You'll also work with the Executive Director to identify opportunities to grow sponsorship, strategic partnerships and other revenue streams that complement ER LAW's membership offering.

It's a broad, hands-on role in a small organisation with considerable scope to bring ideas, identify opportunities and influence how ER LAW grows.

About the Person




You'll understand membership and what drives people and organisations to join, participate and remain engaged with a qualified association.

Naturally inquisitive and curious, you'll want to understand members, their needs and where the opportunities lie. You'll bring a commercial mindset, be confident building relationships and proactive about following opportunities through. You'll recognise how stronger member engagement, relevant events, sponsorship and strategic relationships can contribute to both member value and sustainable growth.

You'll combine this thinking with a hands-on approach. You'll be comfortable taking ownership across membership, events and communications while working closely with the Executive Director to turn ideas and opportunities into tangible outcomes.

Duties

- Drive membership acquisition, retention, engagement and renewals
- Strengthen and communicate ER LAW's member value proposition
- Build relationships with individual members, corporate members and prospective members
- Develop sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities
- Develop and deliver a national program of webinars, seminars, networking events and the annual conference
- Work with state committees and the Young Professionals community to increase participation
- Create member and event communications across EDMs, newsletters, LinkedIn and the website
- Use member data, feedback and engagement insights to inform growth opportunities
- Manage membership data, reporting,



CRM and member-facing digital platforms

Skills/Experience

- Experience in membership, member engagement, account management, business development or a related role
- Strong understanding of membership growth, engagement and member value
- Commercially minded, with the ability to identify and develop growth and revenue opportunities
- Experience within a membership association, professional body or peak body would be highly regarded
- Strong relationship-building skills across members, corporate accounts, sponsors and stakeholders
- Experience coordinating professional events, both face-to-face and online
Strong written communication and practical digital marketing skills
- Proactive, inquisitive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to take ownership
- Highly organised and comfortable working across a broad remit within a small organisation
