- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management regarding profitability, cost management, business growth, resource allocation, financial planning, risk assessment and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, cash-flow reports, budgets and forecasts; monitor actual performance against budgets and analyse revenue, operating costs, margins, expenditure, trends and variances.
- Analyse the financial performance and profitability of the Melbourne and Brisbane operations, including broker-level, branch-level and overall business profitability and performance reporting.
- Manage and analyse upfront and trail commission income, reconcile commission payments to independent mortgage brokers, and monitor lender commission clawbacks and their impact on broker payments, profitability and cash flow.
- Collect and analyse cost data to identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities, and develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
- Design, implement and review internal financial controls, accounting procedures and management reporting systems.
- Review and oversee BAS, GST, PAYG withholding,



payroll and superannuation compliance, including reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts, and support year-end financial statements and income tax processes in liaison with external accountants and advisers.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA qualified or currently working towards CPA qualification.
- Relevant experience in management accounting, financial accounting or a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial analysis and management reporting.
- Understanding of Australian taxation, GST, BAS, payroll and superannuation requirements.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software and strong Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
