BlueStar Steel Frames – Melbourne VIC

BlueStar Steel Frames is looking for eliable casual production workers to join our steel framing team.

We manufacture Light Gauge Steel (LGS) wall frames, floor systems and roof trusses for residential and commercial construction projects.

We are looking for practical, hands-on people who are comfortable working with tools and are willing to learn our LGS frame assembly process.

Previous steel framing or manufacturing experience is highly regarded, but training can be provided to the right person with a good attitude and strong work ethic.

Your role will include:

- Assembling Light Gauge Steel wall frames and trusses
- Reading and following frame assembly drawings and labels
- Using hand tools and power tools, including screw guns
- Measuring and checking components before assembly
- Moving and organising steel frame components within the factory
- Working with the production team to meet daily manufacturing targets
- Checking completed frames for accuracy and quality
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with other production duties as required

What we are looking for:

- Experience in steel framing, timber framing, truss manufacturing, fabrication, construction or factory production is highly desirable
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to read basic drawings, diagrams and measurements
- Physically capable of handling and assembling steel frame components
- Reliable and punctual
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently in a rapid-paced production environment
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Comfortable working independently once trained
- Willingness to meet reasonable production targets





Experience with LGS / steel frame and truss assembly or Scottsdale systems would be an advantage.

A forklift licence would also be beneficial but is not essential.

Position, Hours & Pay

This is initially a casual position, with approximately 1–2 positions available.

Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Pay rate:
$30 per hour for the first two weeks, with the hourly rate to be reviewed and revised based on performance, experience and productivity.

There may be an opportunity for increased responsibility and a longer-term role for the right candidates as BlueStar continues to grow.

We are looking for people who can become part of the team rather than someone simply looking for occasional short-term work.
